Fleetwood 10's Sunday 4th April - Ragingbull Ronin Warriors

The Warriors are a new addition to the Ronin club. Based on the large Fijian element of players currently living in the UK but also provide a base for new talent to be blooded into the UK 7s curcuit in order to provide strength and depth to the Ragingbull Ronin 7s squad.

The Warriors were still on the gun line in Afghanistan whilst most players were getting ready for the Fleetwood Tens as most only got back from a 6 month tour of active duty the day before so to say tiredness played a key part in the early games of the day would be an understatement.

With the bad winter weather causing problems to league fixtures, a larger tournament was reduced to 6 teams and one large league being scheduled. This meant that Ragingbull Ronin Warriors had to play 3 back to back games. At 10 minutes each way before they knew it they had played 60 mins of rugby and were Won 1 Lost 2.

With 2 games left they needed to re group and showcase the talent they knew they had. With the only bit of rugby played in the last 6 months being a spot of touch rugby on a helicopter pad it took them a while but once they clicked the rugby was electrifying and the crowds were showcased some top running rugby in a typical Fijian style.

The semi finals were against the favoured home side who had beaten the warriors earlier that day but sadly for fleetwood they were now playing a different side as the warriors were in their grove and managed to put 4 un answered tries away in the first half sealing a well deserved final spot.

The final again was against a favoured home side old boys and they had beaten everyone that day but regardless of the very tired bodies of the Warriors , they were not going to loose now , and with some excellent cover defense and great running angles the Warriors proved too strong with ball in hand for the old boys side and the Ragingbull Ronin Warriors went on to win their first tournament of the season under the guidence of new coach Ledua Camasoko.

The next tournament you will get to see the RagingBull Ronin WARRIORS at will be the london festival 7s on the 1st & 2nd May.
