The Ashby 7s was always going to be a pressure tournament. Not only to play in but to organise and plan for.

The main reason being as this close to the start of the uk sumer series we were always going to be judged on our performance, and the run of succesfull early season wins did nothing but highlight our short comings at ashby last weekend.

The excuses of players injuries, of which we had 3, taking us immeadiatly down to a 7 man squad for most of the day. And the lack of player availability leading up to ashby will not hold and we were taught a stiff and sharp lesson in humility.

That aside it could have been the best long term result for Raging Bull Ronin who , if not previously , now had the message loud and clear of what we must do in order to compete and compete well at london in 4 weeks time.

A plate final may be considered succesfull by other teams merits but the Ronin club has moved on from those days and in order to put the train back on track some hard work now has to be done.

I am very positive however as there were immense glimses of hope with the boys never giving up and a sterling team spirit remained throughout. Our young find adam nixon playing well and key man takarangi looking fit again after a long injury also. so with county and other key players due back and 3 training sessions ahead only a fool would be found writing us off, as we know , a lot can happen in a few weeks in sevens.

We will see you all at the london rugby rocks 7s.
